Re: LocTite Product for Threaded Connections? (paul79)
I remember using something that came in a bottle with a brush in the lid back in the 80's at the dealership where I worked. Think is was loctite. Here's what I found on their site: Loctite® Plumber’s All-Purpose Adhesive Sealant http://www.loctiteworld.com/usa/index.htm I can't get the direct link in here, but browse the "selants" link on the left.
Hope this helps

I believe the product you are looking for is LocTite 592 thead sealant. It is great stuff. Highly recomended for wet headbolts. It seals threads very well. The only down side is that it is expensive. A small tube runs about $12.00. I think it is worth the price.

I've used it before, great stuff. There are 3 types. One that is basic strnght, one that you used hand tools (forcibly) to get the bolts free, and one that you need impact tools to break the seal. They are in little red tubes
Re: LocTite Product for Threaded Connections? (paul79)
82dukman is right. It comes in 2 or 3 grades. The only difference in the grades is the amount of breaking power required to get the bolt back out. It tells you right on the tubes. All you needs is a little dab so the tube goes a long way and I feel it's worth the $12 (althoughI paid $8 3 years ago). I worked on Nuclear Submarines for 10 years and this brand name is used throughout the construction so I'd say it works pretty good. :)
