Default Questions about Pertronix Ign

How do you like it?
Did it improve anything, idle, plug firing, fouling?
Can you rev to 7000 with it, any misfire?
Which one do you have, orignal, Ignitor, Ignitor II
Would you buy it again:\?\
Thanks.

I had it, I liked it, it died, I like my points better now! :)

The only difference I noticed was the car could idle at a much lower rpm without stalling, but who wants to set their idle at 400 rpm? It also took just a little more cranking to start. With points it starts much faster. MJ

I have the Ignitor II, I installed it when I built the 383 stroker. The points would crap out just over 4000 rpm. With the Petronix I could hit 7000 no problem. I also installed an MSD 6AL a few weeks after the original install. Have put over 4000 miles on it since July and hopefully it will last at least another 4000. As a side note, when I installed the MSD I got a lot of RFI when playing cd's. Will install a RFI filter this winter. When the Ignitor goes I will install the MSD Pro Billet distributor.

Almost a ditto for me, except I have 5 years and 35,000 miles on mine.

I thought that my car started easier and idled smooter when I put them in. I don`t yet know how they work in the new engine.
