So I have the front end suspension apart and while waiting for the new springs to arrive from Van Steel, I decided this was a great time to take care of the front cross member frame area and the radiator support. Normally It's hard to protect against rust and corrosion that would happen with 50+ years of life because the control arms areas are inaccessible as well as the spring wells. So I used some POR-15 on the outside and Eastwood internal frame spray inside these pieces.
The spring wells provide a great opportunity to insert the frame spray hose as it provides access to the internals of the front cross member. Overall I was happy with the performance of the internal frame spray, but you really have to tape the tube to something like a 14-2 romex conductor strand so it doesn't coil up on you.
