Gas Tank Replacement 1978 corvette.
Any thoughts on who makes a good replacement fuel tank. I am looking a modifying a factory replace tank for EFI use. I don't want to start with a bad reproduction tank.
Anyone used a tank for a corvette vendor that they were not happy with.
I already have contacted tanks-inc, they don't make a tank for a 78, Rock Valley will build a custom tank $$$$ and now checking with a local corvette shop that will build a tank from reproduction parts + Holley in tank with hydromat pickup.

When I was checking about possibly swapping my tank in my 77, I was given the impression that the 78-82 tanks are the same. Since the 82 was fuel injected instead of carbureted it used a different pickup unit with an electric fuel pump in the tank. The pump puts out a lower amount of pressure in comparison to newer fuel injection systems, but I did find that the actual electric pump is dimensionally the same for an 1982 Vette (approx 12 psi if I remember correctly) & 1997 C1500 Silverado (approx 60 psi) so they can be switched within the in tank housing

Eckler's lists the same part number for a reproduction tank for 78-82.
However, Their full kit does show a different part number (1 digit difference). I assume that this is because of the different sending unit
I do not have experience with the tanks from Eckler's. I just happen to have their catalog readily accessible.
