I have a question for you that was posed to me on the phone this evening...On a '75, the driver's side frame rail right in front of the rear wheel (where it starts to bend) to the back is rotted and was bent real bad when it smacked the side of a garage. So...the question is...Who makes frame rails and where can I get one? I would just need the bent piece back to the rear. It looks like an easy job, just unbolt the body and weld in the new piece...fortunately there wasn't much damge to the body at all...kinda surprised.
I suspect the rust is most likely systemic making the surrounding frame metal allmost impossible to weld to....only a frame off inspection will reveal the whole truth on that.....
frames are expensive and an obvious transportation problem....
best of luck, also check for windshield/A pillar rust...typically it's toast also...
