What kind of tranny is it? Auto/4-speed, what year manufacture (if you know)?
And where on the transmission is it located?
Thanks,
Jeff

Look for another number, for example: 21A310 with at least one letter in it...

It's a 4spd in my 69 Vert. the VIN matches the car so it is original. The number is located above the general motrs stamp on pass side. The car has an AM rear code which is 3:36 Posi.

There is another number besides the one you posted and the VIN. Is what model muncie 4 spd it is your question?

Re: Need help from a # guru! (dreamn2)
P...MUNCIE
9... MODEL YEAR (69)
A... MONTH OF PRODUCTION (Jan)
10..DAY OF MONTH
A...WIDE RATIO
Looks like you got the M 20
So do I
From what I have read, most vette of that era came with M20's.
Only some of the big blocks got M21 and few got M22's.

Re: Need help from a # guru! (71,454,4spd)
Yup, I got one of them too. The first number you posted: 3925660 is the part number of the case. Mine is a 3925661...the next version. My other number is P0S10A, so mine was made November 10, 1970 and is a wide ratio M-20.
Take good care of it. My case has a lot of hair line cracks in it...I don't know how much more abuse it will take. At night I dream of a Richmond 6-speed Rod...and the $3,000 that will fall out of the sky to pay for it.

Added to what the others have said, it probably is a short muncie M 20 with a 10 spline input and a 27 spline output.

Here check out this link and look for the pics sent in by Eddie. I took these when I had my tranny out. You can see all the numbers. This is a link to Juliets 1970 Corvette Registry with a ton of pics from 70 models.

Can you supply any detail about those seats - I need to get rid of my sorry ('70+) ones and I'm "lookin".
Thanks,
Paul

They're out of a 98 indy pace car. Search through my post and you should find more info on installation advice. Jeff
