Recommendations for Electric Fuel Pump
I have a Holley Red electric pump installed now and it is noisy. Sounds like an angle grinder working in the back. What do you recommend to supply my 502 with 850 Carb that will not be so loud?

Assuming your block has a functional fuel pump mount pad, and your cam has a fuel pump eccentric ... a name-brand hi-po mechanical fuel pump.

I started with a Holley Blue pump, then tried a Carter, but was finally satisfied with a Mallory 140 Comp Pump which is much quieter.

502's don't have a fuel pump mounting pad, they were all fuel injected.
I don't remember which pump I'm using but it is quiet. I'll try and remember to look tonight.

You can do the 82 tank conversion. Just a thought.

Didn't know ... 'though I understand later 502 performance crates & blocks have pad.

That's possible. Mine was originally in a boat and doesn't have the pad machined.

I switched to a Holley billet inline fuel pump after running a mechanical race pump for 8 years.... I'm super happy with mine. They are a little pricey but work well and are very quiet. With the engine running, you will not hear it.

You will need a regulator if you are not using one now, and the return style is the preferred method.

I run a Mallory 140 pump and it is very quiet. They are also known for their reliability. They also have a 250 GPH pump. The 140 will supply enough fuel for around 700 HP.
