Rebuilding my SBC with AFR aluminum heads and roller rockers.

I do want the perimeter bolts
Thanks

Glenn, the sky is the proverbial limit here so it is really going to come down to personal taste. My only suggestion would be to use 'tall' covers due to using roller rockers. Also, consider the gaskets you will use as well since valve cover leaks really suck; I would personally suggest the fel-pro blue with the crush collars as it takes the guesswork out of it.
Since you asked, this is what I went with as I like the old school finned look but needed a tall cover as I am using roller rockers as well.
and just because I like to fiddle with things and the rest of my engine compartment is black I masked it off a bit and used some high temp engine paint to dress them up a little.

I have the AFR 195's and was able to use my oem L-82 covers over the roller rockers and a Felpro reusable gasket. The raised pan rail allowed this to work for me.

Res, brings up a good point. Some aluminum heads (not mentioning names) had a low valve cover rail. The valvecover would never clear any tall rockers, but worse yet was the constant oil leak as oil tends to puddle towards the rear of the head near the drain hole.
Anyway, to get a feel for what is available check out Summit. In the valvecover section, click on "Tall". and of course perimeter bolting.

You can get a spacer and use stock covers too. You just have to see if theres enough room between the rockers for the oil breather baffle

If given a choice, same price, same design, same material, always go WITH baffle. Those baffles will hinder oil mist from entering the PCV system or even a super-duper- double chrome-designer bowtie- logo, fire breathing breather cap.

My Profiler heads have the raised rail, I also went with the EXTRA THICK (REALLY thick) gaskets from Skip White for extra clearance and even with Comp Ultra Pro Magnum 1.6 rockers my "Barn Roof"-style "Short" valve covers fit. -I needed short / barn-roof style to fit under the curved runners of my TPI-style intake, but I still wanted to keep my baffles and NEEDED to clear 1.6 roller rockers. My clearances are pretty tight I don't think I would've made it without the thick gasket and raise rail heads.
Personally, I wanted the highly polished aluminum fabricated valve cover look but I didn't want the maintenance of having to polish them so I went with anodized. VERY happy
I got these Chinese ones but from an Amazon Prime Seller so that I could return them for free if they didn't fit: https://kmjperformance.com/small-blo...r-sbc-350.html I got mine for $72.99 but I ran into a TON of shipping / stock problems and it probably took 5 weeks to get them...

I tried stock covers with Spacers on my Darts, but still tight with Scorpion roller rockers and had to knock baffles out.
I ended up buying fabricated aluminum covers from Skip White. They look and work great and are very reasonably priced.

I've got black Mickey Thompson valve covers, orange harland sharp rockervarms and topped off by purple stud girdles. Very sexy....

IMO, OE L82 v covers look as good as any. They fit some heads with some roller rockers ... I've never tried, but I doubt stud girdles / long polylocks will fit.
also like looks of those VC in post #2

For street car, I prefer VC that look nice to ME. To each his own.
I don't care for most of the fabricated VC because they remind me too much of what we sometimes return from vets' office with

Fabbed covers were neat when they came out...and not cheap. Now china sells them all, goofy welds and all.
The L98 covers look nice on there.
