Default Installing stock plug wires

My 77 still has the heat shield over the distributor and wires and I need some advice on the best way to run new wires. Last time I looked the first 2 wires on the passenger side were not ran through the motor mounts or the shields mounted to the block, so tying a string and pulling them through is out. The car does still have factory exhaust manifolds on it (for now anyway I'm lusting after some Doug's headers and side pipes). Whats the best and fastest way to do this job correctly? Any pictures of this install would be awesome and a big help. I want to make sure all the plug wire looms are present too so were are they all supposed to be? Also should I go back with all Acdelco products for the tune up (wires, cap, rotor, plugs ect or should I go with a different brand? As far as I know the engine is stock although it sounds awful good so I wouldn't swear it hasn't had a small cam installed.

#1 Remove the boots from the distributor end of the wires on wires 1-3 2 & 4 and route them through the motor mounts.

#2 Remove the boomerang (two bolts on each side) and tuck the wires inside as you bring them up to the distributor.

I'm assuming you mean to just work the boot over the metal end leaving it attached? Is there a better brand of wires this works best on or are the acdelco just fine? Am I correct in assuming that in order to remove the boomerang thing I have to remove the motor mount bolt and jack up the motor? My car isn't here with me to inspect it's in storage in a friends barn.
