I'm not trying to confuse you, but make sure the motor you get is marked "R". I know it sounds strange, but the power window motors used in 68-82 Corvettes are reversed. The driver's side uses a GM right hand motor, and the passenger side uses a left.

The reason for this is the power window motors in Corvettes had been use since the 50's. 56-67 Corvettes use the motors marked "L" in the left door, and the "R" motor in the right door. When the old motors were adapted for use in the 68 Corvette, they had to reverse the door they were used in.

So don't be confused or concerned if you order a left hand motor for your C3, and it comes with an "R" marked on it.

And I thought it was just the GM Holden cars that had the R into the left door thing happening. The full size Holden sedans had the same motors from about 74(HQ) to 82 (WB). FWIW.

When working on a car the car's left doesn't change cuz you are facing the other way. Or with a Corvette the front would be left and rear would be right... unless you are leaning over the other fender.

Thanks for posting this. I just disassembled my doors a few days ago and was surprised to see the L and R backwards. I was concerned that something was wrong with the car =)
