I am trying to find the source of an engine ticking noise as evident in the attached videos. I am not sure if this is a lifter tick? An help would be appreciated.
Oil pressure at idle is approximately 30 PSI, under load it is 60 PSI, when cold it is 65 PSI.
Oil is 10W-40 with zinc in the oil. More specifically Driven Racing Oil HR5.
X2 on the make shift stethoscope. Most anything will work, I typically use a long (very long) screwdriver held to my ear, but a garden hose would be fine as well. From your video, it is hard to tell, but maybe it is in the right valve cover. Fingers crossed.
first, ditch that rubbergas line, fire wating to happen.if that's a stock 390hp it's idling very rough,I would pull the valve covers and adjust the lifters.
Its called "setting the valvelash". Way too long of instructions involved here. Better for everyone for you go to YouTube and watch a couple videos on the subject.
