Default new spec clutch clearance issues

Put in new spec clutch 71 sb.Measured throw out bearing clearance with fork disconnected.1/2 of free play. Pedal free play 3inches.Manual says heavy duty trans 2 and a,half.Clutches releases close to floor. Like 1and a half inches. Pedal rod adjusted all the way out to end . thanks for any help

These Corvettes can’t tolerate a clutch that doesn’t release in less than about .560 inches. I would test the clutch in a press and if it doesn’t release in less than .560 inches it won’t work in a Vette no matter what release bearing and/or pivot ball you use. I have run into this in my car. You certainly don’t need 1/2 an inch of bearing clearance. As little as 1/8 of an inch will be fine.
