Default Replacing Corvette Letters on the Back Deck

I have a 1975 convertible. I have lost the E on the rear deck emblem. I have a replacement E but am not sure how to affix the small “nut” which attaches the E in the emblem. Is there an easy way to gain access to attach the small nut that holds the E in place?

The speed nuts attach from the rear. You'll need to wiggle your way behind the bumper cover.

I understand they attach from the rear but at first glance it doesn't appear there is room for my arm to reach up from the bottom of the vehicle. I wasn't sure if it would require disassembly to reach the rear space behind the letter in order to affix the letter or there might be a way to access the space without taking it all apart.

Nope, no easier way...that bumper cover will have to be partially removed to give you clearance to speed nut it on. On top of the main bumper is a triangular support, dead smack in the middle, that was put there to add extra support to the cover to keep it from collapsing inward. That triangular support will keep you from getting your hand in there to attach the letter. 1975 was the first year for this. You can get to the bumper cover top attaching nuts through the taillight holes, and the sides you can get from underneath. It not nearly as daunting job as you might imagine.

I was able to remove the angle shaped , center bumper support, useing small tools and patience, that exposed the area to attach the nuts to the letters, , , you can do it,,
