I just installed a new Lectric Limited dash harness in my 1980 and since I did that, I'm having trouble getting the car started...and up until now the fact that it started was just about all it had going for it! I have a feeling that it's due to the ignition connections on top of my steering column. I read in a spot or two that these connections are different for car with or without tilt/telescoping steering columns. So I'm hoping someone out here can confirm, that my T&T steering column is wired incorrectly and maybe show me the correct wiring. Otherwise my issue is something much more annoying...
Thanks for the reply. Jim's papers is actually where I discovered the fact the standard and T&T steering columns had different ignition wiring to the same connectors. Unfortunately the papers don't say or show which is which respectively. And the vehicle wiring diagram which I also have shows one switch wiring scheme but not the other. I could maybe assume that the diagram would be for a standard non-T&T steering column but I didn't wanna start plucking out wires before knowing for sure.
Time to get your test light working-- key off, where is the power? Key on, where is the power? T&T or standard column, the power goes in and the power comes out. And 99% of the time, the connectors will not plug in incorrectly. Compare the colors on the wires to the wiring diagram.

Hi again.
Let me ask:
You have an '80
Do you have a T & T steering column?
When you turn the key does the rod move in the correct direction?
What makes you think that the wires for the switch connectors are not in the right place?
The only thing I can see is the wire on the far right with the stripe is one slot high. But that might not matter because I think both slots are connected together.
Unplug the wires from the switch and post another picture.
