Default Engine dilemma

Which engine should i choose between these two https://www.summitracing.com/parts/mll-bp3501ctc1/ vs https://www.summitracing.com/parts/mll-bp35511ctc1/ One has roller cam, the other has flat tappet. Is the higher price worth it? The engine with roller cam is recomended 87 octane which is about 91 octane where I live. Can i use 95 octane (which is 91 octane in the US) in the engine? Can i replace the flexplate and put on my flywheel with no other problems? Thanks in advance

thats also bored .040, if it wears the cylinders after warranty the only other option is .060.

Is it no go then? Just got confirmed from summit that the cam is a roller.

thats entirely a personal opinion, mechanically the only issues you may have is needing extra cooling. I prefer to know that I can bore a block to use for another rebuild later, with it .040 over you may not have that option.. didnt you post in the general section about not wanting to use you block because it needed to be bored?

Look at that pic https://blueprintengines.com/product...tor-bp3501ctc1

It's Likely that intake & that carb with THAT air filter assembly will not fit under most C3 hoods ...
... It's Likely something will need to be substituted.

It's quite Unlikely OP will find an advertised "dressed" motor which satisfies his every desire. Best have a competent mechanic assemble it for you ...
... or, if you just have to have yourself a BP motor, then you have BP agree to custom-assemble one to suit your specs ...
... or a clever mechanic can assemble a NEW & better package for less than BP's ... as I attempted to guide OP toward in his previous motor thread.

Roller is my first choice.

It's unlikely that the typical Corvette driver will wear out the bore on a mildly/infrequently driven car. My 68 L71 had negligible bore wear (50,000ish miles). If you're tracking/dragging regularly maybe bore wear comes into play. Valve Guides/Seals and general oil leaks are more likely the reason for rebuilding down the road imo.

Are you sure it don’t fit? The previous intake I had was massive. The hood is a 427 bb hood

No, I'm Not sure it won't fit ... and I did not say I was sure ... I said likely.

Most folk don't have a BBC 427 hood. You indicated broken motor is sbc.

Maybe it'll fit like a glove, I hope it does fit perfect and makes you smile.

But, you've missed the forest because of the trees in front of you.

No, I'm Not sure of that, but it's Unlikely.

C3ForLife1968 ... best of luck ... I'm done.

your last question. no. not if you still have orig engine. these are 1-piece rear seal engines. OTOH, a 1-piece flywheel in the correct diameter is cheap. where are you? shipping gets pricey once crossing an ocean.

get the motor with roller cam and upgrade to aluminum heads. Roller cams will allow you to run gas station oil if you need to, and upgraded aluminum heads are most likely better flowing and they all help prevent detonation, plus they are alot lighter
