Default C3 Carpet installation

A while back, I purchased a set of carpets for my 1979 C3 Coupe from Wilcox. The color is perfect and I'm getting ready to install them. The manufacturer was ACS. I'd like to do it in phases so I won't mess up my summer show season in the Northeast. I have some questions that I hope someone can help me with:
1) How much "underpayment will I need? I see some insulation comes on the ACS carpet. Can I reuse the materials under the old carpets?
2) if I was going to do this in stages, how would you recommend I break the project up?
3) what adhesive would you recommend? I see in a couple videos that a 3M product is highly recommended.
Thanks! Phil

79 has separate passenger and driver carpet. I'd pull the passenger seat out, and have at it. You won't disable the car for driving yourself around, and you'll figure out as you go what you need to do.

In my 80, I burned holes through for the seat bolts using a torch and copper pipe. Willcox has posted the correct way to do it.

I added Hushmat and Reflectrix. Better insulating materials exist, but these made a big difference and are inexpensive.

Default Finished the carpet job

Made a few mistakes along the way, none were fatal. The carpets had been replaced way back when. Nothing was glued down except the seat backs and the rear compartment doors. It had a solid coat of Dynamat. I added more insulation on top of the Dynamat. I did it in sections, front first and back last. I’m thinking about writing up the process I went through including my mistakes, does the forum think that would be helpful?

Yes! Your experience would be welcome information for those planning on doing it in the future. I did mine already, but am not satisfied with the way it turned out. I'd like to see the techniques others have employed - I will likely go back in and tweak my installation.

I for one would love the writeup. I have been stalling installing ne carpet in my 77 for months. I bought ACS carpet from Willcox early in the spring and now it's late August.

I'm creating the document on Word. It's pretty big. I'm not sure I know how to include pictures in it. I've written it in such a way that hopefully you don't need the pictures. I'll post the first draft by the end of the End of next week.
