Default Speedo/tach removal

I need to remove the section of dash that contains the speedo and tach.

Anyone been through this?

Caskiguy... thanks for the props.. I think I've updated this for the left side only and this link would serve the OP better. http://repairs.willcoxcorvette.com/w...ad-removal.pdf This is the best way to preserve the left pad and remove it without causing issues... and the same way we do it in the shop. I'll be gone for three weeks but when I return later next month I promise I'll update this.

I seem to remember dropping the steering wheel down last time I was in there messing around.

This time I'll be going a bit farther, as I'm going to dye the pad, so this IS great info.

Car is a 60, and I'm doing the entire interior. Changing everything to black.

The car is a 60 ??????

Why are you posting on the c3 section.

60 is an entire different subject... you have to remove the speedo housing and then address the issue.
