Default What block should I look for?

Bought rebuilt heads and intake this week now I need the short block. What should I be looking for in a 350? The year, numbers, type of car or truck it came out of? I want to punch out 30 and put in a mild cam.

I have always been told to look for a 010 casting #. Supposedly these are higher in nickel content thus stronger. Other than that I would just look for something that is in good shape. There is not a difference that I have ever heard of between A 350 that came out of a car and one out of a truck. Oh yeah if you are running a manual tranie make sure the block is taped above the oil filter mount for the linkage rod. good luck.

Here is an idea for a roller cam engine if you can find some one to do it or want to tackle it yourself. Roller cams are

If you want the dip stick on the drivers side get the 370010 block.
