Disconnect 4 speed shifter

not sure what you gain by that but you would disconnect the shift rods from the levers on the side of the transmission case. I would think it would make things a little difficult because you wouldn't want the tail shaft of the transmission getting hung up on the bracket that holds the shifter to the cross member.

I have taken my 4 speed out twice and don't think it would not be possible to leave the shifter in as you need all the room to wiggle and turn the trans to get it out
