1976 Courtesy Light Switch
I've looked all over the forums and found problems similar to mine but no specific answer. My driver's side courtesy light switch got broken causing the lights to stay on. I bought a new one from corvette central and installed it with some electric grease. The interior lights went out briefly but came back on as soon as I tightened the driver's switch down. It's not the headlight switch turned I've checked that.

it is ground that comes thru the switch. When it pushes in disconnects ground. Use a meter and see if it does. One wire is ground on other gets made thru switch when out. Maybe defective or other side has trouble too

There seems to be a little bit of metal where the switch bolts to the body. I forgot to mention before the old switch was damaged and I think from moving around in there it damaged the metal ring. Any easy way to fix that? I tried smearing die electric grease on everything and that didn't help either.

I found the problem, I installed new larger LED bulbs in the foot wells. The metal housing on these bulbs were so large the driver's side was creating its own ground! Just ordered some smaller ones but the problem is fixed.
