Another mystery part question Headlight hinge area
While trying to troubleshooting why the passenger headlight will come up, but not go back down. We noticed two differences between the drivers side and the passenger side headlight hinge area.
This part is missing from the passenger side manual release area
This part on the passenger side
was freely spinning, we were able to tighten it with a hex, but the size was not true and didn't want to strip it just to test the theory.
Based on previous Q&A, it is unlikely these are responsible for why the headlight won't go back down, but we don't want to overlook it when the driver's side works fine and they have differences.
Thank you

1st pic is the switch for the headlight opening warning light, frequently busted off as they are plastic and the threaded stud is right on the parting line. When the light switch is pulled, a warning light on the center gage cluster goes on until the light is all the way up and pressed on that switch to turn it off, if it stays on you would know the light didn't raise all the way
Second is the side to side adjustment collar to position the headlight in the car opening, shouldn't affect the ability to open unless jammed somehow

Probably not but there might be some reference pics here that might help as you go through the lights looking for the issue

BTW if the bearings beside that collar are seized up they will prevent the light from moving as well
Careful, lots of stuff in there is cast aluminum/pot metal and easily broken, screws are frequently seized tight

Thank you for the great information. The passenger side light may be slightly off-center, but I wouldn't think enough to contribute..I'll be under it tomorrow after work checking for equal distance just to rule it out. Since the driver's side works ok, tomorrow's plan is also to check the relay valve. Caution on fragile parts...thank you.
