Default Paragon Side Exhaust - Insulators

I installed the Paragon side exhaust on my '72 convertible. I was looking at the Paragon site and I see that there are two insulators for this exhaust (see second picture below). I need to know the function of these pieces and what will happen if I don't install them. If I need to install these pieces I need to know where they go. I do not have an AIM for a '69.

Appreciate any/all input.

The foam goes at the rear channel. Not sure how effective that is. The fiberglass goes between the rocker and frame. That one should be installed before body drop, but can be installed after, but is a pain. It will help in keeping the heat from coming in through the rocker channels.

I don't have them and don't feel any heat coming through that area

Appreciate everyone's input. I believe I will drive mine without the insulators.
