Parking brake on or off while in storage??
Should the parking brakes be engaged while the car is stored away for six months??

I don't store mine, but FWIW, I'd go with the unengaged position. If they "freeze up", I'd much rather they do it unengaged than engaged.

In my experience, it's best to leave it off. The parking brakes can rust to the backing plates if moisture gets in there, plus the shoes can bind against the rotors tightly, locking them up too. When I put my car away, I leave the parking brake off.

I don't know about you, but this is an easy question for me. My parking brake is off while I'm storing it. In fact, it's laying in my storage compartment....

off, that way if it siezes it will be off, plus it doesn't stretch out the springs
