Went to Corvette Invasion in Bastrop this year. After the track run, I, too, got the brake annunciator light ... and more pedal travel than normal. on my '71. (all original)

Stopped at an Auto Zone, checked the reservoirs. Aft was full. Forward was almost empty. So bought some DOT3 added to the front section of the MC reservoir. No appreciable change. Still have good braking action, just more pedal travel, pedal doesn't fade --- so I don't think the MC is bypassing either.

I'm thinking I need to do a full flush/bleed/leak check. The rotors/pads are good.

Say ... I noticed the courtesy lights (floorboard in particular) illuminated FULL TIME. Could only extinguish by disconnecting the battery. I know i'm reaching, but I'm hoping that's a secondary alert to a brake problem??? :o Haven't consulted my ops manual, but that wouldn't surprise me.

Good luck, pwsusi!

If your front reservoir was "almost empty", as you said, you may have gotten air in the front lines causing your spongy pedal.
I suggest a bleeding of the front calipers to clear out any bubbles.

Good call. Will probably do that next weekend. This week has gotten full all of a sudden.
