71 wiper door function

Default 71 wiper door function

have friends 71 over and wiper door comes up when starting, stays up after car is turned off..installed new wiper arm vacuum switch now comes up then down when starting would like to know if the up and down is normal when first starting...stays up if wipers are on as well as the manual vacuum control

No. Check the metal valve and the white plastic filter.

changed all three wiper arm vacuum switch, vacuum hose check valve and vacuum hose filter, was told possible vacuum leak or is it the vacuum relay valve

Vacuum relay would be my guess.

Classic wiper door solenoid issue. Clean or replace it. It is located on the back of the tach.
Here is how to disassemble and clean.

Did you test the new wiper arm vacuum relay switch before you installed it? All the new cheaper ones test bad. Only the one from Lectric Limited, (sold also by Willcox and now Ecklers) is good. Costs about $60.00 compared to $25.00.

Easy Mike the new metal valve was bad , only allowed 10" of vacuum installed another one and works like it should

I have ordered two of these from two different places and both were impossible to suck any vacuum through...very little, like it was blocked.....put the original one back on.
