I took out the wiper motor out to bench test it because its smoking.
Bench tested it with the assistance of the Wilcox Video. All functions work... slow, high speeds and park. But something is getting hot that I can't see. Smoke is coming out near of the 3 wire connector. I have the water pump housing off... but its emitting from the 3 wires down deep n there.
Yes I did... I ran it on high and the smoke has seemed to burn off. ... It stopped smoking. You said the resistor gets hot under the connector. So that makes some sense. Could be some grease on the resistor. The smoke didn't have a electrical burning smell either.

You'll be fine... Install and run it. Grease, dirt grime.. who knows... Kind of like starting a car up that has sat for a year leaking oil on the side of the block, it'll burn off. And trust me... while I am the only one that carries that resistor.. it's a royal pain to install a new one without burning up the three wire terminal block with the soldering iron.
