Default PS Pump / pulley differences

Do the earlier C3 keyed PS pumps pulley sit closer to the pump than pressed on pulley pumps. Having alignment issues.Trying to use 2 groove crank pulley instead of 3. Only acces. is PS pump. I have the correct Vette WP . Thanks

That I don't know. But altering, modifying, changing the original crank pulley is likely the issue here.

By any chance is the crank pulley an aftermarket unit? They seldom fit / align correctly.

The crank and WP pulleys are original.This was a AC/Smog pump PS car originally. I replaced the PS pump and I think the pulley 25 yrs ago and had to shim it to make it line up.New crate engine and mocked up original pulleys as you can see in pic. I've seen some 71 AIM belt routing variations and they show a 2 grove crank pulley set up w/just PS. Thats what I want.Looking at the 2 groove March crank pulley but I need to know what PS pump and pulley do I need. 71?

That bracket piece under the yellow bolt seems different, but I have a later Saginaw. Is it possible that just that one piece needs to be flipped over before you torque the bolt down? Seems like that would move the pump back for alignment for the middle crank pulley.

Its the original bracket that only goes one way and the bolt is just holding in place against the block.Are the saginaw pumps also Corvette specific?Maybe this is for some other GM application.This pulley thing is holding up my engine install and driving me crazy!!

Corvette specific? IDK But your pumps fill tube is one of the tall ones. Later yrs it was much shorter to clear the Alt bracket I guess.

The question here is, which crank pulley do you believe the PS belt has to go on?
If I had to guess, I would say that's the incorrect pump and that pump belongs on a application with the Alt on the passenger side.

Default 68 427 390hp I am going through same...

Putting a 427 back in 68 coup going from page 1. I have nothing to go by. Is there any good references out there. Need to know long or short water pump. PS is on left side with alternator. Which pulleys and brackets. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Do have build sheet for 68 car, that's mostly body tho, have 68 service manual.

I am unsure of what engine you have, but the pulleys can be a hassle as parts are swapped over the years.
The aim is even hard to figure out for all the different configurations. I needed the cast ps pulley for my 69 L46 350 to get everything to line up with the correct crank and water pump pulleys.
