I put them on when I put in my new engine. They look great after ~700 miles and sound excellent. I have them paired up with 2.5" duals running into Flowmaster 40 series mufflers. The headers are definitely a good purchase for the price ($220 from Summit).
I put them on my 74 last year and like them a lot. So far the finish looks pretty much like the day I put them on and they gave a definite seat of the pants improvement in acceleration. They went in fairly easy but I had to make a dimple to clear the Z-bar on my 4 speed car. Others have installed them on their stick cars with no problems so this might just be unique to my car. When you have them installed try to get a crossover pipe made up and it will cut some of the resonance of the exhaust system. You should also use a metallic gasket like the Percy's dead soft aluminum on both the head portion and the collector portion of the header. This will eliminate the problem of blown gaskets. You can also use Stage 8 fasteners to stop the bolts from backing out. If you use the Stage 8 bolts don't install the locks for about a month. Each week you should retorque the header bolts because as they expand and contract initially the bolts will need to be retightened. After about a month or once the bolts no longer need tightening you can install the locks and they will stay put. Here's what mine looks like.
Me too!! Fit and finish are great for the price. Install a breeze too. Do yourself a favor and use soft aluminum header and collector gaskets when installing the headers. You'll be glad you did....

If you're using straight plug heads you won't have any problems. As I said before I dimpled the #5 pipe to clear my z-bar and it worked well. I only needed about 1/8th inch additional clearance and the dimple didn't hurt the coating.
That's good to know. The Aluma-Coats that are on there now are dimpled pretty severly to clear the number 3 plug. I have Vortec heads now, but had the same problem w/ the stock heads.

You read my mind, JameyZ28. Last evening I "discovered" Stage 8 bolts on a web site, and came in to ask tonight. Looks like Dynomax is on my list. CorvetteForum is the best !
