New Owner Help
So I have just taken charge of my 1971 C3 Manual
Imported it from NYC, very happy with the car but a few ****les, hope some of you may be able to help
I need to have a decent workshop manual for the car, sure there will be things to fiddle and repair over the years so a decent manual is needed- any recommendation's please
Vacuum problems, the pas side headlight doesn't want to lift, drivers is OK but a bit slow, wipers and wiper door works fiune but no washers
Are the wares electrical??
No horn working- Electrical
Perhaps a fuse has displaced on the sea journey- where are the fuses??
Unsure what the little controls under the steering Colum are- looks like to pull switch's and 1 rotary switch?? any ideas
This is my new car how pretty is this

On my '76, the under the dash **** is for resetting the odometer and the stem is pull switch for manual override for opening the headlights without turning them on.

For the Headlights read this:

For the horn go to www.willcoxcorvette.com

Beautiful chrome/chrome C3!
Where did you import the car to?
Ditto what Resdoggie advised: Owners Manual, Service Manual, and Assembly Manual (AIM).
Also, on those early C3's, the ***** under dash are as follows, left-to-right:
- Odometer reset **** - push or pull, and turn to reset the trip ODO to 000
- Left Headlight Door override **** ("L" = Lights is how I remember) - pull down to open the headlight doors and leave them open with lights off (originally for replacing bulbs, etc.)
- Center **** - Turn **** for stopping the wipers mid-stroke (meant for replacing the wiper blades in up position)
- Right Wiper Door override **** - Pull down to open the wiper door without needing to turn on the wipers
(both pull-down ***** work off of the vacuum, so the engine needs to be running to operate still, or you need to have good vacuum in reserve if engine is off)
I am in the UK- Gloucestershire
It came yesterday and am now just doing some tinkering and sorting some issues out that come with a 50 year old car
Need to get my head around the vacuum controls and the way that works,
The car has had an engine replacement its got a 388 stroker motor, mechanically seems to be spot on
Painted and made to look like a Baldwin Motion car very cool I think
So the electrical issues I have is
No horn, No heater fan, No washers
I had the wiper door off today and looks to me like the washers have been disconnected as I cannot see any pipe work except 1 open ended pipe that comes from the wiper box area- also cannot find any sign of a washer bottle
So might have to make some modification to this
