Default Carpet/Reflectix Insulation Question

I'm finally getting around to installing the ACC carpet set I bought from Eckler's last spring :bb , and plan to use Reflectix foil backed insulation (the stuff Lowe's sells) under it. The carpet has jute padding glued on and the insulation is about 5/16"; it occurred to me that this combination might be too thick. Has anyone used the Reflectix with this sort of carpet? Do I need to scrap the jute or is it OK to leave it on?

I think it would be best to use the carpet with out the padding.Youre right ,it will probably be too thick.,therefore it will be very hard to install your seats,console,etc.. :seeya

Depending on how thick that insulation is, you should be fine. You may have to remove the jute pad from under the seat mounting rails and shoulder belt retractors (if you have em) cause the bolts will be too short. But otherwise you should be good to go......
