In the process of installing the Vintage Air in my '76. At present I'm installing the wiring harness. The red/white wires that run through the circuit breaker. . .where did you mount the circuit breaker? The instructions say to mount it as close to the battery as possible but with our battery behind the drivers seat that makes it kinda difficult. I think this was designed for a car with the battery under the hood since the install diagram shows it running through the firewall.
I ran mine back to the battery- both power and ground. That's really the closest location for power- without going down to the starter. And the processor-ECU- electronics will like the nice clean-stable power from the battery.

I did the same as Richard, under the center compartment door. I also used an inline plug in fuse like you would buy at autozone. Not as convenient as circuit breaker if it blows, as you need to plug in another fuse but I do not ever remember blowing a fuse anyway. The in line fuse takes up a lot less space.
