Default Rear suspension

Hey guys,

New board format? Damn. Things move quickly! I've been gone for the last few days installing my new stereo! :D

Anyway, I had a question. On another forum I am on, there was some discussion about the rear supension of the c3 vettes and the effect on handling. One person mentioned some models had independent rear suspension, and some had the "Gymhkana" suspension. He also said that the Gymhkana suspension made a big difference, I assume in a positive direction.

I've never heard of this before, and I was wondering if someone could explain the difference between the two, and what this Gymhkana suspension is... Maybe even some pics? Because I am clueless here.

Thanks guys!

Adam

First off all c3's have the same independant rear - there were minor changes in 81? the gymkana option was spring rates and shock valving - and thats it - nothing elese different. the springs were stiffer and the shock were a bit more aggressivly valved.

thats about it though.

In some years there was also a daytona spring available - this spring was monsterously stiff and probably horrid onthe street.

I forgot, one other thing - the gymkana suspension also included a rear sway bar - which was also available on big block cars.
