I wanted to remove a dent in my crossmember, but it is too deep for the tool to fit inside along one edge. Has anyone else had this issue? I was thinking of drilling a new hole and trying and push it out enough to get the tool in. However I am worried it may take several holes. May just have to leave it dented. Appreciate any thoughts.
Hey Jim, I have had this same problem with a few cross members. I found the fix was to grind the rear edge of the inner tool piece to a bevel so it will tuck in place for the severely dented cross members. This will not harm the integrity of the tool. I ground about a half inch off this one before it would fit into place for one of my cars. Greg

+1. I had to do the same but took some off the front as well as the rear.
With very deep dents, you also may have to use a little Bondo or other filler to finish it up.
