That tire is outside of the recommended rim width. Use them if you like the ricer pinched tire look. Otherwise, put a 60 series tire on there like this:
The optional “big” tire for 78 through 82 Corvettes was P255/60R15. I’ve been running that size on my 69 since they first became available. First Goodyear Eagle GTs, then B.F. Goodrich Radial T/As when the Eagle GTs were discontinued.
On some year Corvettes there might be a small interference when the front tires are steered left or right. A bit of fiberglass trimming would be needed in that case. They fit my 69 perfectly, and look good, not too skinny, not too wide.
Model year 1978 was the first year Chevrolet used the modern metric tire designations. Prior to that a letter designation like F70x15 was used on C3s.
