t top gasket
I am replacing my t top gaskets with a pair I got from Ecklers. The new gasket looks much bigger and shaped a little differently. I absolutely cant get my top to go on and sit down tightly. I have used all of my adjusters and shims and the top still sits up about a half inch. Has anyone had this kind of trouble? I don't know what to do from here.

It is a 1980 L82. Part #107479. I called them and they said that was the only one shown for my car. I noticed it said something about Gen2 and they said in 1977 it changed from a 19 pin to a 18 pin. I actually had to remove 4 pins along the front and rear edge as I didn't have holes there. I just bought the car a few months ago and wondered if they might be an aftermarket top. The gasket fits the top OK but the lip seems too big to sit on the car.
