Default Power door locks (69)

So I know you can use factory stuff but if you buy the repops they are $ and used is up there too. The Vette tax gets annoying and I wanted to fine something a bit more universal. So after some quick searching I came across these. Very cheap and they work.

The rod is wrapped around the lower clevis and the zip tie is just in case it slips. I'll tack weld a washer and hook it up factory style. My car didn't come with power locks.

I did the same... Cheap? it's like lunch money!!! A set of OEMs reproductions will cost you over a C-note!!!

Are you just using the remote or are you going to add a switch?

For my switches- I used the 66 C2 (one year only) metal door pulls and got rid of the vinyl ones. You just have to swap sides and they'll fit the C3 with a little grinding
Then mounted a momentary switch at the top of the handle- also added aftermarket power windows way cheaper than used OEM!!!

To get the best leverage I added a thin aluminium overlay that extended the Clevis. Then attached to it...all using cheap kit from eBay.

Nice Rich...I might have to do that (just when you thought you were done!) Lol.

@Richard454 where do you put your wiring / relays for the locks? Mine are all ran back to under my center console. Are yours in the doors?

For now they are just controlled via remote. I use it to obviously lock the car but also roll the windows down when I'm approaching the car.

Thanks!!!

Ahhh- you wanna go down the rabbit hole...

I am actually back to messing with my wiring the final time...got the stuff to work then with my AADD ( Adult attention deficit disorder) was off to other stuff...

Hey - how many ADD kids does it take to screw in a light bulb???

Wanna go for a bike ride!!!

For the door locks - I'm using a neat device - PAC TR7 - a trigger output module that is programmable.

I'm using a couple relays in conjunction with the module and can control lock/unlock with a SPST switch-

Push once -locks Push twice within a set time and they will unlock- or vise versa or IIRC five pushes...all programmable and less than $15

Where are the relays?

I made up the harness for the door locks and the electric exhaust cut- outs- I'll be putting then in the pass side dash . I already have the console area full up with power window relays /vintage air controls/heated seat controls and the piece de resistance - heated and cooled cup holder from a Cadillac Escalade!!!

I'm also redoing the door panels and have moved the door lock altogether- used some buttons off a M-B 500sec -

Oh- I added a a courtesy light ( thanks to my BMW parts car) on the side of the door-

And the last piece to add -is the side mirrors- added some turn signals to them-

I have looked at those-

Right now inside the car I am running the modular ones with three fuses- fully configurable..

For outside the cabin - I found the littlefuse 280 micro relays- they have several different sizes - are super small- fully configurable and waterproof.

I used three of them to replace the fusebox- and while I was at it- moved it so it was a little easier to get too!!!
