Battery Drain
Ok, so the fun continues. I am replacing the entire interior of my 74. Two weekends ago I unscrewed the after market radio that was slapped in there. I did not think I touched any of the wires when I laid the radio & amp to the side. (Did not disconnect any wires, just pulled the units & laid them to the side) Sure enough after 2 or 3 days the battery is dead.
Any suggestions on what I may have done. I even pulled the inline fuses of the radio & amp thinking that would resolve my problem. This only tells me that the "short" is before the units.

Often the interior light delay box will go bad after an occasion when you leave your door open for a long periods of time. Disconnect the fuse that feeds your interior light and see if the drain goes away.

I would start at the beginning. Get a test light or meter and place it inline on the neg battery cable. With the ignition off the light should be off. If it's on then something is draining the battery. Pull 1 fuse out at a time to see if the light goes out then isolate the problem to that circuit. Who knows what was done when the radio was installed.

Easier way to find the circuit is to use the test light on the fuse panel....the light will tell you where the drain is....don't know if your vette has the wiper over ride switch, but that is the biggest drain, if left on.
