I got home from school about 20 minutes ago. I walked up the front steps and saw that my from door was open about an inch. I push it open and all the wood around the door fell to the ground. All the locked were broken and the whole door panel is damaged. All that i can tell that was stolen was my parents jewlery boxes w/wedding rings, watches and necklaces. :mad Some how, the alarm was still armed when i got back home. It would have gone off the instant the door was forcable opened. COuld they have possibly shut it off? GGRRRRRRR. This is the second time it has happened in the last 3 years
I bet someone who has experience installing those systems can get by them easy. My security system is so good I don't lock my doors: two 80 lbs boxers. :)
Sorry to hear of your parents loss, sucks when someone takes what others have worked hard to obtain. :mad
I think the alarm actually went off.. there was the memory thing flashing on the alarm pad, i guess it just reset itself after it went off so it just gave me the buzzing like normal when i opened the door
Shoppers drugmart just called my house. They said they found my fathers jewlery box and passport in one of their garbages :mad
Sorry to hear this. I think that folks who are caught breaking in to peoples homes should be severly punished, like getting their hands chopped off. That is a nasty premeditated mean crime. :mad :mad
So sorry to hear that. That'd really **** me off that someone had been in my house.

That's how most systems work. They are set to trigger an alarm for a specified period of time and then rearm if possible and keep the alarm trigger in memory as to what zone, day and time.
I know how you feel. Someone broke into our house about 4 weeks after we moved in.They took about 30k worth of stuff. Most of it you can replace but what really :cuss :mad was the irreplaceable sentimental things :(
sorry to hear about that. personally , my experience with alarms is that they are useless. my shop has an alarm from one of the larger companies, worthless. on occasion i will deliberatly set the alarm off when i open up in the morning. one out of 5 times ill get a call from the jerks. my house is booby trapped. not real awfull legal, but anyone comes in the house when im gone will be there when i get home. gee, guess i did learn something from my tour in south east asia :D besides, i live in the desert, easy to get rid of bodies :D coyotes and buzzards gotta eat too. hope they catch the scum bags.
Sorry to that, My Parents house was broken into and they now have an alarm ,and they put a Beware of Dog sign on the gate.Ever hear a cat bark? They're cat lovers.Something to think about. Are you a member of the Corvette club?
Sounds like Canada has some job opennings for competent police officers. Or the cops need to get the heck out of the donut shops and start doing some pro-active patrolling.

No. i'm not a member of the corvette club. I've had some bad experiences with some of the members and don't really want to join. haha. Are you new to the forum? Tell me about your car!
Justin ,Iam a member for about 2 years now, I have an 80 L-48 dark blue/blue leather no glass tops ,bought it from a teacher in a small town in Iowa.It has 51000 mi documented back to 1984. The car is very original and in very good condition. The US had a better selction of cars, first trip was 660 miles home after the purchase. Sleeping now till April/03.
what does the corvette club do? I ran into one of the guys from the club that has a red 80-82.I parked beside him at pony corral and opened my hood up. HE thought i was trying to show him up so he started his car up and drove away and parked somewhere else. I don't really want to be involved with it if people like that are in it. I also asked this other guy with a white 78 or something and he kind of just shrugged me off.
I really enjoy the car club, we meet on the last tuesday of each month .The cars are the reason we meet but there is alot of interesting activities, cruse in meetings, barbeques at city parks, car poker rallies and great up to date info on Bowling Green, group club logo clothing purchases, photo shoots. They are also visible at the Manitoba Marathon, MS car rallies,Christmas cheer board and car shows around the province. We talk about tech stuff and we have a great guy up-dating us on interesting on line information. If you want to see what goes on e-mail me and we could meet there.
Oh, that sucks! Sorry for your family's losses. My apt. was broken into in college and they took all of the very few items I had of any value (watch, stereo components, CD collection). I have also had a few cars broken into as well. I anxiously await the fateful day I get to catch someone in the act. :reddevil
