Make sure you are trying to get it in the right hole...Seriously... One end of the arm in the door is round and the other end is elongated. You need to put it into the top hole. If you take the rod and start to turn it upwards, the elongated end of the rod will fit into the elongated slot. ONce it goes in and it gets into proper position, it can't fall out.

Thanks I know about the slotted hole for the actuator rod. Just can't figure out a way to install it in the pivot with the limited room inside the door. I am going to try to assemble the whole thing and try to fish it in the door. If that wont work I guess I will take the glass out and try.

When I changed my outside door handle I just raised the glass up and had complete access to everything I needed to get to.
