Default Anyone else lose tools in their engine compartment?

So far I've lost two 3/8 crapsman sockets and for the life of me, can not find the damn things! They roll off the fender pads into oblivion, never to find them again. Now, when I drop something through I pray I hear it hit the floor! Thank God it was the engine bay and not the engine itself! I was just wondering if anyone else has this clutz disease.

When I was changing the Idler arm in my tahoe, I did it here at school so I could use the lift. Well the shop teacher dropped a 1/2" extension with a socket on the end of in to the frame horn. I was glad I wasn't the one who did it. I guess on the up side, if I ever put a body lift I get free tools :D

I left a Robo Grip under the hood of my 78 PC. Drove 200 miles from chicago to LaCrosse, then on a 110 mile ride. While I was washing the car, we saw it setting on the motor mount......made the entire trip and didn't fall off!

I drop tools all the tiem - mostly to the garage floor.

Since I'm tearing two vettes apart, I'm finding all kinds of lost tools - mostly
small ones.

Nothing beats my wife's story. She was talking on the portable phone (900MHz).
Then, she had to take a friend up to Concord ~50 miles - mostly highway.
Upon arriving at the destination, they both went outside for a cigarette.
They were standing near my wife's truck, and there was the phone -
sitting on the back bumper !! DoHHHHH !

I've lost tools in there somewhere. When I am driving over bumps and hear things fall off the car I usually wonder if it is a tool or a muffler / halfshaft / harmonic balancer / brake caliper / door / gas tank / what have you.
