Changed my turn signal flasher as it was blinking very fast, found this attached where the flasher relay was plugged in.
Is it necessary to put this back in the slots?

Put there to stop the static pop back in the days when people listened to AM radio.
The turn signal flashers usually are not the issue of too fast blinking- more than likely is a bad connection or burned out bulb. OR the install of a LED bulb and using the old style mechanical flasher.
What is this for?
