You will be part of corvette history. It sounds like a great accomplishment. If your'e ever down this way.. well .. Damn ,can I have a ride ! plz plz plz.....
What an accomplishment! One (or all) of the magazines should be standing in line to do write-up's on Merlin. That is undoubtably one of the baddest looking cars that I have ever seen. When are you driving down to Texas? We have a lot of long endless highways down here for measuring top-speed.
What a great story, my nipples are hard from that
I've been following your journey and passing much of it along to friends. I want to thank you for the amazing details in your posts, I feel like i'm there with you.
As others have said BE CAREFUL but most importantly have fun
Steve, CONGRATULATIONS on seeing your project to fruition. You have been an inspiration to a lot of enthusiasts with your imagination, sweat, and perseverance on Merlin. Hope to see a full spread on your glorious machine in lots of automotive magazines in the near future.
Steve, Congrat's on your accomplishment !!!!!!! Can't wait to see the video........ when does the tour begin ? .....or more to the point-----
When will Merlin make it to the East Coast ? Rick :chevy

Merlin all I can say is way
God what trouble I would get into having that down here in PB. They already call me Magnum, with that car forget about it!
If you ever have the chance, I am sure the hand full of Louisiana forum members would love to see your vette up close and feel and hear it run. (Rides are optional)
Steve, another congratulations from South Dakota. I can't say I know the feeling, but I had a small taste if it the first day I drove my 81' after reassembling it from a basket case frame off resto. The first drive sure does feel good.
Don't forget the weekend of July 20th is the big Corvette rally in Spearfish SD. ;) It'd be a good place to test drive Merlin, and not all that far from your home state. ;) :) What else can I say to get you to come on out?????? :D :yesnod:How about this link? http://www.blackhillscorvetteclassic.com
I was hoping to be able to respond to each & every one of your posts, but I'm really under the gun today with work. I just wanted to respond before this thread slips away & say thanks for all your great responses. It has been a pleasure & an honor to know you all. Thank you. -Steve
Wow. Really magnificent story. It was like reading a really good short story. Congradulations on getting the beast going.
Coincidentally, I just got my 427 BBC project finished too. Brought the car home last night. Like you, I've got some power steering issues. But my gigantic 5-core radiator and almost as large oil cooler never allowed the temp gauge to climb above the low mark. Hopefully, that'll do the trick in the summer heat.
I didn't drive it much yet. It was dark last night and even with "only" 670 crank horsepower, driving in dark seemed suicidal to me. So I still owe that thing a good thrashing.
Here's to what a Corvette could be turned into!
That thing is crazy  I was scared just reading about it. Maybe you should have put an ejection seat in the damn thing. I can see it now: "Merlin loses control, Steve ejects to safety"
Congrats on the First ride........Sounds like it was worth every bit of the time and effort that you have put.....in to it......so when will it be on the cover of Hot rod magazine...with a hottie draped on it??
