When I built my 69 vette I collected a few tilt steering columns for parts, some maybe with the original steering wheels but I dont know what original looks like, Im think of putting at least 2 of them back together with aftermarket parts.. if available.
I got some of them in local salvage yards and one at the carlisle meet. If I use aftermarket parts is it ok to sell as rebuilt or do I need to find OEM. Or maybe sell as is because of reliability.
A starting price would be nice to. I would like to sell to you guys but found sometimes people act as a regular joe but are greedy resellers.
Zip and Ecklars sell nearly all the pieces , new , so you could get them back to original style and function easily enough. I have rebuilt a few now and I know the COLUMN parts Zip sells are really good quality When they have been overhauled properly they are an excellent piece.
Some of the original pieces are plastic and honestly ,it has gotten brittle if original age so saying "all original " would be a warning that things are fragile in there.eg turn signal switch and the horn button pieces.
Prices vary as too condition ,I have seen 69 year style for $1000 us on ebay usa , I never saw it sold though , supposedly totally rebuilt, They aren't hard to do , one special tool you can buy local for cheap and you can do it yourself.
