Default Wire help

The white wire with female connection where does it go? It comes out of light switch bundle. I have another white wire under there and goes towards center of dash area . Thanks in advance . 1972

On my 1968, the white wires coming from the light switch feed the door jamb switches and the courtesy lights under the dash and in the rear compartment. Do these lights work on your car? I don't have a 1972 wiring diagram to reference.

Those all work except for the compartment in the back. Switch is missing on that one. I can’t find it on my diagram.

That light that I’m referring to is the rear courtesy dome light. I may have mislead you to the rear storage compartment light that is switched by the center compartment lid. Is your rear dome light working? If not, then maybe that is your wire. Good luck!

I've got the following white wires listed
(All of these are tied together, IIRC in the quarter trim area)
Under hood anti-theft switch
Brake pedal stop light switch
Light switch <<<<<<<<<<<<<<
L and R hand courtesy lights under dash
L and R hand door jamb switches

Through the rear-harness connector to:
Rear courtesy lamp on the back wall
L and R hand door ajar switches
and one from the anti-theft relay to the anti-theft flasher

Most of these lights mentioned work without this being plugged in. I’m gonna take another look today.

Mines a 69 so could be very different.

That single black plastic female connector and what you are indicating as a white wire appears only on the:
  • Speed Warning circuit (white wire would go to back of speedo)
  • Transistorized ignition harness. (white wire would go to ignition switch but I cannot be sure if this is inside the car or out at the amplifier, i never had a transistorized ignition)
None of my courtesy light door switches have the black female connector on the white wire... they simply did not come with a plastic connector cover on them on my year.

Again, different year so could be something different. But I see nothing with a singe white wire AND the black female terminal connector other than the two circuits listed above on my diagrams.

The picture almost makes the wire look tan and seems like the ACC tap wires you would find on the rear defroster circuit and the power window circuit but those would have TWO tan wires coming out of the single Black terminal connector and would be in the ACC port of the fuse panel.

Yeah I can’t find it either. There is a long white wire that goes to the center cluster area

Is the white wire to the hood alarm switch already taken care of?
