I'm going to need new tires for my '81 in the spring. 225/70R 15. Who has purchased recently? What are the quality tires. I've seen Cooper Cobra recommended. What other RWL tires do you recommend?
Checking my go to tire seller, Tire Rack, they don't list the Altimax in a 225/70R15. However, General's website lists that size, but it is an outline white letter. I have a set on my 2005 Grand Caravan. The wet and dry handling is excellent. While I would never take a C3 out in the snow, I've driven I-70 from Denver to Grand Junction in a steady snow without a problem.
on 71 roadster w/ OE ralleys, been running Jetzon Revenger RWL which are IDENTICAL to Cooper Cobras (same factories-construction-specs) but mine are a little wider 60 series. Jetzon is priced lower than Cooper for same tire.
on all else from GM pu to Lincoln TC for many years been running OHTSU FP7000 ... division of Sumitomo ... all mine mfg in Indonesia.
I bought 255/60/15 in June and so far like them. Watch for some sales and you might get a rebate on the purchase of 4. I received $50. Of course there is always BF Goodrich .
I recently bought new tires. I had intended to go with Michelin Pilot Sport AS 3+ but they were back-ordered in the size I needed. I ended up going with Cooper Zeon RS3-G1.
I really like them. Ride is better than the previous Michelin Pilot Sports I had. Handling is just as good. Pretty good bang for the buck tire and saved a bundle over the Michelins.
