Have to change the intake manifold gasket on my worked 350.....Maybe thinking since I'm almost there, pull the heads and have them ported...190 64cc heads..
Anybody have personal experience with porting pro comp heads ? Is it worth it ? Cars the usual worked 350 .040 over, cam, RPM dual plane intake, 750 carb , msd...Etc etc...
Depends solely on how bad the valve job area is on the Pro-Comps.......the valve job and the transition to the bowl is the most important area for flow in a head.......
The Pro-Comp probably has a good port shape so I would leave it alone. Look for someone who can perform a 5 angle (Serdi) valve job on these and blend it in nicely. Also, a premium backcut valve is always a bonus......
"Porting" the heads is not going to reap the benefits you want if the valve job remains untouched.
You might want to price out just getting new heads from AFR or Dart.......my own Dart 200's came unassembled and the valve job/transition/bowl area was very nice. It might be more or as much to modify yours.

Done a few Jebby is right. Yeah you can port them depends on the job done vs results
Never believed in hogging out just a little in a few places, best for the st/occasional strip car
Narrowing the guides doesnt do much but wont hurt you
