Default Missing switch on 73 C3

There is a rectangular hole just left of the fuel gauge that has been covered with a strip of thin plastic. I lifted the plastic and there appears to be a small bulb in the back of it. Can anyone tell me what is supposed to be in there? Mine is an automatic

I believe there is a lens that fits in there and says, "fasten seat belts" and the bulb behind it to illuminate the lens.

I saw a picture online of a center console and it looked like there might have been a button at the bottom of it that read Push.

Seat belt reminder light. Push to turn off. Comes on with every start up.

A replacement lens from Eckler doesn’t have the button. Will the light go out I when belts are fastened? If not I suppose I could just remove the bulb

I had a 71' that had it. As I recall, it didn't go out unless you pushed the button.

The 73 doesn't have the seatbelt button. The last year for that was 71. Here's a pic of what you'll need. Just so you know, on the 73 if your seat belts are functioning properly... this light and the buzzer will not go out until the belt is buckled or pulled up at least 10-12 inches out of the retractor. Just sayin'
Hope this helps!

thanks. I think the correct lens will look much better than the black tape
