Default 71 Pro-Touring Build

This will be an ongoing thread of my current project. The car is a 71 350/270 4spd car that I bought as a total loss. I have been gathering parts to begin the build for a couple of months now including a compleate vbp mono leaf front and rear suspension, a restored frame from a great CF member in PA. The build will be a slow process as i am currently in my senoir year of college and dont have the funds to finish it anytime soon. Planning on a big inch small block 400+ ci and the same 4 speed, the car will be used for cruising and some autocross and posibly some track days.

After the PO decided to drink and drive

This was before the car was wrecked

Steering column took most the impact

Hope you've had the frame checked for straightness. That thing looks like it took a pretty good hit.

yes if I had the original motor I would consider going back original but it’s long gone, car was restored in the 80s or 90s, lost its leather interior and lt1 hood long before I got it. But still has the 6500 redline tach

Default Engine

The motor is a Charlie High racing engines fully forged 4bolt 355 that came out of a late model stock car with 700 laps on it. Internals, Solid cam roller rockers with stud girdles carillo pistons and rods

and all the good stuff making around 440 horse and 480ftlbs with a 7200rpm redline! Should be plenty

yea I think the 355 should be fun, if it would have had the original lt1 I would have restored it but it’s not worth hunting it down to me.
yea complete ruined the collumn and wheel, and his head got the windshield pretty good too!
