Rear cargo/storage area light - can’t get the wiring harness to plug into new socket!
I am installing the carpet and rear cargo light in my 69 roadster. The wiring is all new as well as the socket from LL. The wiring has round ends and doesn’t lock into the new socket. The new socket came with new connections that look like the courtesy light pin connections. These don’t look like they would lock into the new socket either. Lots of people have replaced the rear wiring so this must be something easy that I’m overthinking. Don’t understand why the rear wiring wouldn’t have the correct connections from LL like the rest of the wiring did. What am I doing wrong???

IO’ve only found one other thread on this from 5 years ago where someone else had the same problem. They squeezed the ends of those barrel type connectors and they grabbed when inserted into the socket. I might give this a try unless anyone else has seen or had this problem and figured it out.
I’ve spent hours now trying to get these wires to connect to the new socket!!! The male ‘barrel plug’ ends on the new harness look to be correct like OEM and should fir that socket but they don’t seem to be big enough. They just slid in and out and don’t grab anything. I tried flattening the ends to make them oval so that it would widen them enough to to grab the socket but still too small!!! Both the socket and wiring harness are from LL. DUB or anyone else ever install a replacement rear storage/cargo light??
Those look like bullet connectors, commonly used for RC cars. Do you have a hobby shop in town? Perhaps you can make something work that way, even if you have to cut apart an RC connector.

Thanks. I’ve been looking for different connectors that would be slightly bigger to fit into the socket. It’s like these are just a size too small. The OEM socket I have from the car if 50 years old and I can’t get the wires out of it. It’s cracked anyway but they look like the same style connections.
