Dumb question on the nite---insulation question
OK- I feel stupid but....I'd rather do it right the first time. I bought a roll of foil backed carpet insulation at Peppy Boys.
When replacing carpet, does the foil face the carpet, or does the foil face the floor board???
I warned you it was a dumb question. :crazy:

The foil should go down if there's foil on only one side of the insulation. I used insulation with foil on both sides so it didn't make a difference. Where two pieces join together use aluminum duct tape to seal them together so you end up with one continuous piece of insulation. This prevents heat from leaking past the joints and holds all the pieces together better. Here's a pic
